Sports sponsorships

As an already consolidated trademark we collaborate in Asturian sport by way of sponsoring sports clubs and entities.

Since the very beginning FARHO has supported and/or sponsored several sport clubs for many different types of sports. Footbal, Handball, Volleyball, Racing Cars, Hiking, Cycling, etc. One of the most important sponsorships was the one that Farho had with the First Basketball Division, FARHO Gijon which helped to strenghten its image thoroughout Spain.

In 2007 the company decided to change its marketing strategy and to broaden its horizons. Two major sponsorships were signed.

JAVIER VILLA – GP2

One of the best young Spanish car drivers, Javier Villa and FARHO decided to work closely as a “Personal Sponsor” of the driver. In 2003 Javier was chosen among 7,000 pilots to run for Repsol Racing in Spain. One year later he becomes Junior Champion of Spain.

His most important accomplishment was in April 2006 when with only 18 years of age he becomes the youngest driver to compete in the GP2 Championship, the previous step to Formula One Racing. With only 19 years of age Javier Villa becomes the youngest Spanish driver to win in this category in the Frenc circuit of Magny Cours.

In the last few months Javier Villa has tried for BMW Sauber which makes us think that sooner than later Javier Villa will become a new Spanish Formula One driver.

LA VUELTA A ESPAÑA 2008

Last cycling tour of Spain, known as “La Vuelta a España” FARHO signed an agreement in order to become Official Sponsor of the “Vuelta”. Farho sponsored the Km 10 before arrival and had a very strong presence in television, more than 45 minutes of life appearance in Spain and every country were the VUELTA was retransmitted. 500 guests were also invited by Farho to attend every single stage of La Vuelta in the VIP area specially design for vip clients. 12 of the 500 were able of following one whole stage of La Vuelta in the Organizations Helicopter and also in a Cyclists Race Car.
