Create a unique workspace at home

espacio de trabajo

It is very usual now the called teleworking or remote work. That is why having a  well-defined space at home is essential to be able to be productive and perform your daily work.

While it is true that not everyone can have an exclusive room to work, there are other solutions adapted to smaller spaces to be able to work from home comfortably.

In today’s entry, Farho will try to give you some tips and ideas to create that practical space you need to get the most out of your spaces, and perform at work.

Find a room with space for a desk

First of all, it is important to determine the space you need. It is not the same to work with a computer, than with plans or other utensils.

The living room is undoubtedly the top space, since it is usually the largest room with the greatest margin to play with.  Although we could also consider the bedroom or a space around the stairs (if you have).

It is important that the space has a window nearby, which provides natural light and is not crowded with furniture.  Ideally, if space permits, including a separator could provide the feeling of disconnection with the rest of the house, especially at those times when your relatives make use of that particular room.

What elements to include?

As we already mentioned, having natural light is preferable, although we do not always have that option.

In both cases, including a lamp with low-consumption LED technology would be the most successful option.

Secondly, maintaining a correct temperature is essential to keep us active and thus perform throughout the working day. In winter,  a heating system that provides a uniform temperature, and in summer a ventilation system that provides fresh air.

Having a low-consumption, smart and noise-free  heating system would be the best idea if the work at home lasts for a long time or is permanent.

Being in a common space, it is important to have storage systems, such as drawers, shelves, boxes or wicker baskets, in order to keep everything organized. In addition to serving as a decorative touch, it will keep your workspace in order and avoid annoying distractions.

Plants are a source of creativity, and in addition to providing a decorative touch, they will fill the space with a unique freshness.

A good chair or armchair prevents rapid fatigue and boosts concentration. That is why it is advisable not to skimp on the purchase of a good chair to work. And finally, don’t miss your personal touch! Make that corner yours, with things or accessories that motivate you and you like. In the end, you will spend many hours there and the decoration can act as an encouragement.
